Our commitment to prompt surgical care
To ensure timely treatment, all surgeons on our Breast Team are committed to seeing patients with a positive diagnosis within five business days, if possible.
We offer advanced surgical procedures tailored to each patient’s diagnosis:
Lumpectomy:
This procedure removes the tumor and cancerous tissue while preserving the breast. In some cases, surrounding lymph nodes may also be removed. Thanks to advancements in technology, survival rates for lumpectomy are comparable to those of mastectomy.
Mastectomy:
A mastectomy involves the removal of the entire breast and may be recommended based on the size, type, or depth of cancer to prevent recurrence. After surgery, patients can explore prosthetic options provided by our breast cancer navigator or discuss breast reconstruction options with their surgeon.
Double mastectomy:
This involves removing both breasts, either due to cancer in both breasts or as a preventive measure for high-risk patients.
Our surgical options are designed to empower patients with choices that best suit their unique needs and diagnosis. Advances in surgical technology allow us to offer minimally invasive options wherever possible, reducing recovery times and improving outcomes. Each procedure is performed with precision and care, guided by evidence-based practices to deliver exceptional results.
